Queer Theologians in Praxis (Q-TIPs) and Youth Voices Count launches a new course on Queer Christian Theology for Young People
By YVC Secretariat – Friday, August 3, 2020
As part of our continued interfaith advocacy for LGBTIQ adolescents and youth, Youth Voices Count has partnered up with Queer Theologians in Praxis for an online ecumenical and public study on the “Introduction to Queer Christian Theologies”. This course is primarily designed for interested young queer activists, youth leaders and students, and faith leaders.
The unapologetic aim of this course is to advance the cause of queer justice in faith communities and churches and to deepen the theory and practice of contexual queer theologians. The course will run from August 17 to December 21, 2020, this course is open to young people from the Asia-Pacific region.
The course will be led by Karl James E. Villarmea, Ph.D. and members of Q-TIPs. Q-TIPS is a network of church people working in the spirit of inter-faith. They are clergy, lay people and academics who believe in the holiness of the radical welcome and translate their advocacy in the field of academic discussions and work for justice.
YVC is committed to building allies and securing safe spaces for LGBTIQ adolescents and youth within faith communities. Our advocacies on human rights, sexual health, and youth empowerment is strengthened by the support of faith-based organizations who are our allies in countering bigotry and discrimination faced by LGBTIQ adolscents and youth.
